The price, without a form
A fixed price all year — the season does not move the number
The price databases covering Færder talk openly about summer premiums on Tjøme without explaining what they consist of. With us they do not exist. The square-metre rate on homes and the price list on cars are the same in July as in November.
The only thing that varies with your address is the driving, and that is a rate rather than a judgement call: NOK 20 per kilometre from where the free five-kilometre zone ends. Tjøme centre is about 20 kilometres from the base and Verdens Ende about 30 — which gives you a supplement you can work out yourself.
We say it out loud because the alternative is worse. A hidden mileage charge that appears on the invoice is the most common complaint in this trade; a stated supplement that sits in the quote is simply information.

Vrengen bridge makes all of Færder road-connected
Tjøme and Nøtterøy make up Færder municipality, with Borgheim as its administrative centre. Tjøme is reached via Vrengen bridge — there is no ferry, and the whole stretch is driven. That makes an appointment out here as predictable as one in town.
Further out lie Hvasser and Verdens Ende. We drive there too; it is the kilometres that differ, not the willingness. Your address decides the supplement, and you see the total before you confirm.

Do you charge extra for larger cars?
Yes, and we state it as a number: an SUV adds 30 per cent and a van 40 per cent to the base price. The supplement is shown in the price before you book, so you choose the size and see the total straight away.
The car smells after a summer of swimming and dogs — what helps?
Air-conditioning cleaning with ozone treatment at NOK 1,800 disinfects the ducts and removes odour from the cabin. Pet hair removal at NOK 599 takes hair from seats, carpets and boot, and boot cleaning can be added for NOK 699.
