Interior deep clean
The cabin cleaned down into the seams, not just wiped over: dashboard, console, trims, glass, mats and boot. For the car that smells like a car again.
About the treatment
How we do it
It is not what you see that bothers you. It is what you feel. The grit crunching under your shoes in the footwell. The faintly sticky feeling on the wheel and gearstick. The band of dust in the gap between the dashboard and the windscreen, the one no cloth reaches. The smell that is not strong, but that greets you every morning and reminds you it has been three years since anyone gave the interior a proper clean.
An interior deep clean is not a more thorough version of wiping over. It is a different job.
What we actually do
We empty the car first. Everything loose out, all mats out. Then we work from top to bottom, in this order — because dust falls downward, and because the floor should be the last thing done.
- Compressed air before vacuum. We blow cracks, seams, seat tracks, air vents and joints clean while the vacuum stands ready alongside. What sits down inside a seam does not come up with suction alone.
- Detail cleaning with brush. Dashboard, instrument housing, button rows, gear area, steering column and the narrow edges around the screens. The brush loosens, the microfibre picks up. We use a matte, non-greasy dressing — not a glossy product that reflects in the windscreen and draws dust the next day.
- Door panels and pockets. Door pockets are where coins, receipts and old sand collect. Handle recesses and window switches are cleaned of skin oils, which is what causes the sticky feeling.
- The seats. Full vacuuming with a brush nozzle, in the seams and in the rails under the seats — where you cannot see, but where most of it lies. Belts and belt anchors are cleaned on the surface.
- The glass. Interior window washing is its own skill, because the film on the inside is off-gassing from plastic, not road dust. We take it in two passes, with a dry cloth at the end, so no streaks appear when the sun hits it.
- The boot. Emptied, vacuumed, wiped, including the well under the floor. That is usually where whatever has leaked ends up.
Why it pays off
Dirt in a car seat is not passive. Sand and grit in the fabric act like sandpaper every time someone sits down, wearing the fibres from the inside — which is why old seats go shiny in the middle before they do at the edges. Moisture in the mats evaporates up into the cabin, condenses on the glass and causes smell and mist. Skin oils on the wheel and gearstick break down the surface finish on the plastic over time, and that is damage that does not reverse.
If you sell the car later, the interior is what the buyer spends the least time describing and the most time judging. A cabin that smells clean and does not crunch underfoot shifts the price expectation before anyone has opened the bonnet.
How often should you have it done?
Once a year for an ordinary family car. Twice a year if you have children, a dog, or drive a lot with dirty shoes — one round in spring when the winter grit needs to come out, one in autumn.
How long does it take?
Around 3.5 hours. Most of the time goes into the narrow places, and it is the narrow places that make the difference between clean and clean enough.

What people ask
What does an interior deep clean cost?
Kr 1 500 for a small car. SUV adds 30 %, van 40 %. You see the price for your car size in the booking before you pay.
What is the difference between this and the interior part of the standard wash?
The standard wash wipes surfaces and vacuums. The deep clean takes the parts apart where they can be taken apart: mats out, compressed air in the seams and air vents, brush around buttons and joints, cleaning of seat tracks and door pockets, and the boot emptied and finished. It is 3 hours of work against roughly 45 minutes.
Do you remove stains in the seats?
Surface stains and ordinary dirt, yes. Stains that have soaked down into the foam upholstery — coffee, milk, blood, vomit — require an extraction machine and belong to [seat treatment](/bil/setebehandling). We let you know if we see that the seat needs that treatment instead.
Do you remove odour?
We remove the source we find: old food, spills, damp mats, dirt in the seams. If the smell sits in the ventilation or in the fabric itself — smoke, dog, damp — it is [air conditioning cleaning with ozone](/bil/klimarens-ozon) that solves it, and the two are often combined.
How often should the interior be deep cleaned?
Twice a year for a family car with children and a dog, once a year otherwise. Fixed points are spring, when the winter's grit and salt need to come out of the mats, and autumn before the car again spends months with closed windows.
