Mester Signatur
Our signature: 2-step polish, headlight restoration, complete interior detailing, deep-clean wheel cleaning and engine wash — the whole car finished in a single day.
About the treatment
How we do it
The car is going up for sale in the spring. Or it has simply been allowed to grow tired over the years. The paint has swirl marks that show up in low sunlight, the headlights have yellowed, the cabin smells of car, the wheels are brown instead of grey, and the engine bay has a layer that makes nobody want to look down into it. Each of these five things has its own service with us. You can book them one by one: five visits, five appointments, five times to be home.
Mester Signatur is the same five jobs, completed in a single day. It is our signature, and the only thing we sell that carries the Mester name.
What we actually do
The order is not arbitrary: exterior before interior, sanding dust before textile, and the engine bay last because it is the dirtiest part of the day.
- 2-step polishing. Hand wash using the two-bucket method, chemical iron removal, clay bar and paint thickness measurement as preparation. Then a test patch on one panel to find the mildest combination that actually resolves the scratches. Followed by cutting, which removes wash marks and the oxidised top layer, and finishing polish, which removes the cutting's own marks and builds the deep gloss. Inspection under LED light from multiple angles, panel by panel. Wax protection over the entire paintwork at the end.
- Headlight restoration of both front headlights. Masking, a multi-grit wet sanding sequence, machine finishing polish — and UV sealant to finish. It is the sealant that determines whether the headlights are still clear in three years or yellow again by summer.
- Wheel deep clean. A dedicated iron remover on cold wheels, not just a standard wheel cleaner. Baked-on brake dust is dissolved chemically rather than scrubbed off.
- Complete interior detailing. Full interior deep clean down into the seams — seats, carpets, console, trim, glass, mats and boot — followed by steam disinfection of all interior plastics. Steam takes care of the bacteria on the surfaces you touch every day, without leaving any chemicals behind.
- Engine bay wash. Electronics and air intakes are covered, and the engine bay is cleaned gently. Afterwards you can spot a leak while it is still a leak and not a repair.
Then we walk round the car together with you before we pack up.
Why it pays off
The arithmetic can stand here: 2-step polishing kr 3 699, headlight restoration of two headlights kr 1 000, interior deep clean kr 1 500, steam disinfection of interior plastics kr 725, wheel deep clean kr 599 and engine bay wash kr 699. Separately kr 8 222. Together kr 7 999.
The money is still the smaller part. The larger part is the order. When everything is done in one session, the interior does not get dusted down again by a polish that comes afterwards, the wheels do not get dirty from a wash that comes before, and you do not have to clear five afternoons. If the car is to be sold, this is also the single day that changes the first impression the most: the buyer does not read the paintwork technically, but sees that the reflection is sharp and draws a conclusion about everything else from that.
How often should you have it done?
Once, and then maintenance. The signature treatment is a refurbishment, not an interval. Afterwards the paintwork is kept up with hand washing and, if needed, a 1-step polish the following year, and the interior with an interior deep clean annually. If the car has been standing outside for a few years without care, or is about to be sold, this is the time.
How long does it take?
6 to 8 hours for a small car — a full working day at your location. SUVs and vans take longer. We need dry weather and preferably a garage or carport with power.

Questions and answers
What people ask
What does Mester Signatur cost?
Kr 7 999 for a small car as a fixed price. SUVs add 30 % and vans 40 %, as elsewhere in the catalogue, because the surfaces are larger and the day is longer. The price for your car size appears in the booking before you pay.
Do I save anything by taking it as a package?
Yes, and you can work it out yourself: 2-step polishing kr 3 699, headlight restoration of two headlights kr 1 000, interior deep clean kr 1 500, steam disinfection of interior plastics kr 725, wheel deep clean kr 599 and engine bay wash kr 699. Separately kr 8 222. Together kr 7 999. The bigger gain is that you are home once instead of five times.
Why 2-step and not 3-step polishing?
Because 2-step is the right level for the vast majority of cars with normal wear from use: cutting removes the scratches and wash marks, the finishing polish removes the cutting's own marks. [3-step](/bil/polering-3-trinns) adds a finishing stage that matters on dark paintwork and on cars being put on show. If your car needs that, we say so at the inspection rather than selling you something you will not notice.
Can I add anything on top?
Yes, but not the parts already included — these show as "Included" in the booking and cannot be selected twice. What does make sense on top is protection that lasts longer than wax, that is, quick ceramic or [ceramic coating](/bil/keramisk-coating), and cleaning of the headliner if the ceiling is stained.
What if the paintwork turns out to need more?
Then we let you know along the way instead of continuing to sand. Scratches you can clearly feel with your nail go through the clear coat and cannot be polished away without removing too much paint. We stop there, show you what remains, and let you decide whether it should be done as a separate job later.
