Car polishing in Sandefjord — from NOK 2,399, where the car stands

Sandefjord is the one town here where car-care prices are already written down, so here are ours next to them: 1-step NOK 2,399, 2-step NOK 3,699 and 3-step NOK 6,499 for a small car. What separates us from that list is not the figure but the address — we drive the E18 south with water, power and equipment on board, and the job happens where the car stands.

Prices

What does car polishing cost in Sandefjord?

The figures below are the base price for a small car and are read straight from our catalogue, so this table and the total in the booking come from one source. None of the rows is a headline number with a supplement that appears later.

The size supplement is a percentage rather than a category: SUV 30, van 40. That is the line missing from most of the price lists that already exist in this town.

Sandefjord sits outside the free travel zone, and that is in the table rather than in a footnote: NOK 20 per kilometre from the address you enter, as its own line in the quote.

Choose a step

Which step solves what you actually see on the paint?

A step is one machine pass over the paint, not a service tier. The most expensive choice is therefore not automatically the right one — the third step buys you more hours of work, not a finer treatment of paint that does not need it.

The test at home takes two minutes: move the car into shade, dry one panel and look at it from the side. If the gloss is even but a little dead, one step is enough. A web of fine circles means two. Individual scratches catching your eye across the car means three.

  • 1-step

    NOK 2,399 · around 5 hours

One pass that lifts the gloss and tidies up the lightest marks. The usual choice on a car a few years old.

    • Dull gloss and light swirl marks
    • A lease car that should look right at hand-back
    • The same polish that sits inside the sale preparation detail
  • 2-step

    NOK 3,699 · around 8 hours

Cutting first, which takes a large share of the scratches, then refinement that clears the working marks and brings back depth.

    • Scratches and wash marks you see without looking for them
    • A used car, or paint after a few winters of salt and grit
    • What most people in this town land on
  • 3-step

    NOK 6,499 · around 12 hours

Cutting, polishing and a dedicated finishing pass. Takes most scratches and wash marks and leaves a gloss close to new.

    • Dark or single-tone paint, where everything shows
    • The preparation before ceramic coating — then it sits inside the NOK 8,999
    • A full working day at the car, so it needs to stand still

How we work

How does the polish work in your driveway?

We come to the address you give us with our own water, our own power and the equipment on board. You plug nothing in, and the car is not moved.

The order is the same every time, and it is not negotiable: run the machine on paint that is not properly clean and the dirt goes into the paint rather than off it.

  1. Pre-wash, hand wash and degrease

Foam is left to dwell and lift, then a two-bucket hand wash, wheels and arches, and a degrease at the end.

  2. Decontamination

Clay pulls out iron fallout, tar and road grime stuck in the paint. Afterwards the panel feels smooth, and only then does the machine work evenly.

  3. Machine polishing, panel by panel

The number of passes is the step you chose. Between passes the surface is inspected under work lights — that is where a missed streak shows.

  4. A walk-round before we pack up

We go round the car in side light with you. To keep the result longer, wax or a ceramic coating can go on at the end.

What we need from you

Room around the car — about one extra car length — and dry working conditions. Polishing does not tolerate rain on the paint, so we need either dry weather or a carport, garage or roof. If the day looks uncertain we move the slot free of charge. Water and power are on our van.

The area

Where in Sandefjord do we drive — and what does the trip cost?

The municipality is long, and the distance from our base at Skiringsalgaten 6 B varies more than people expect. Vear belongs to Sandefjord but sits physically next to Tønsberg, only around eight kilometres out. Stokke is around fifteen, the centre around twenty-five, with Framnes and Melsomvik in the same direction.

The E18 makes the axis predictable, which is why we can say what the driving costs before we set off: five kilometres are included, and the rest is NOK 20 per kilometre from your address.

Paint here gets two seasons that leave marks: salt off the E18 and grit from the roadside bins in winter, beach sand and insects in summer. It is the grit that makes the swirl marks people bring us in spring. If the car stands outside all year at Framnes or by Melsomvik, underbody salt removal at NOK 499 matters most over time.

How the travel fee is calculated

The first five kilometres from Skiringsalgaten 6 B are included. After that the rate is NOK 20 per kilometre from the address you enter. Vear is closest, then Stokke, then the centre, and the amount is a separate line in the quote.

Questions and answers

Common questions about polishing in Sandefjord

What does car polishing cost in Sandefjord?

A 1-step polish costs NOK 2,399, a 2-step NOK 3,699 and a 3-step NOK 6,499, which is the base price for a small car. An SUV adds 30 per cent and a van 40 per cent. Sandefjord is outside the free travel zone, so NOK 20 per kilometre is added and stated in the quote.

Do I have to drop the car off somewhere?

No. We polish where the car stands — in the driveway at home, in the visitor bay at your housing association or in the car park at work. Water, power and equipment are on our van, so you plug nothing in. All we need is room around the car and dry working conditions.

How long does a polish take?

Allow around five hours for a 1-step, eight for a 2-step and twelve for a 3-step. Much of that goes on washing, degreasing and decontamination before the machine starts. We are open every day 09:00–20:00, so a 3-step is booked early in the day.

Does polishing remove scratches I can feel with a fingernail?

Usually not. If you can feel the scratch with a fingernail it goes deeper than the clear coat, and then repainting is the answer. Polishing removes swirls, wash marks and fine scratches. We say so before we start if something cannot be polished out.

What does the drive to Vear, Stokke or the centre cost?

Five kilometres from Skiringsalgaten 6 B in Tønsberg are included, and after that the rate is NOK 20 per kilometre from the address you enter. Vear is around eight kilometres out, Stokke around fifteen and the centre around twenty-five. The amount is a separate line in the quote.

What do you add for an SUV or a van?

SUV 30 per cent and van 40 per cent on the base price, calculated in the booking before you pay. More square metres of paint means more passes, more product and more hours, and that is stated as a figure rather than inside a size category with no explanation.
