Car polishing costs NOK 2,399 for one step, NOK 3,699 for two and NOK 6,499 for three with us — base price for a small car, SUV +30 per cent and van +40 per cent. Below is what each step actually removes, how long it takes, and how to choose without paying for more than the paint needs.

What does car polishing cost?
Nationally the market runs from around 2,000 kroner to almost 15,000 for what is called polishing, and the word covers everything from one quick machine pass to full paint correction over several days. That is why a price on its own says nothing. The step does.
The prices below are the base price for a small car and are read straight from the catalogue, so they are the same figures the booking shows. The size supplement is a number: SUV 30 per cent, van 40 per cent. Washing, degreasing and decontamination are inside all three steps.

Comparison
The three steps side by side
A "step" is one pass over the paint with a particular combination of pad and compound. More steps means more material taken off the clear coat and a finer result — but also more hours, and clear coat is not an unlimited resource.
So the most expensive step is not automatically the right one. The table is built to choose downwards as often as upwards.

Combinations
Washing and polishing in one booking
Search for "wash and polish" and you find two products. With us it is one booking: the paint has to be clean, degreased and decontaminated before the machine starts, or the dirt is polished into the clear coat. The pre-wash is therefore inside the polishing price, not beside it.
What can genuinely be added is the cabin, the seal and the small jobs. If it is one panel or one scratch that bothers you, a spot polish at NOK 1,999 is the right size of intervention — and a more honest answer than a full polish.
The wash is included
in all three steps
Foam pre-wash, a two-bucket hand wash, wheels and arches, degreasing and decontamination. These are the hours before polishing starts.

How we work
How a polish actually goes
The order is the same whatever the step, and it is not negotiable. It is what decides whether the result survives the first wash.
We work where the car stands, with our own water, our own power and the whole kit on board. You provide nothing, and the car is not dropped off.
Wash and degrease
Foam pre-wash, a two-bucket hand wash, wheels and arches, then degreasing the whole of the paint.
Decontamination
Clay pulls out iron fallout, tar and everything else embedded in the paint. Afterwards it is smooth to the touch — the condition for the pad to work evenly.
Polishing, step by step
Machine polishing panel by panel, with an inspection under work lights between passes. The number of passes is the step you chose.
Inspection and optional seal
We walk the car in side light with you. Wax protection or ceramic coating can go on at the end to hold the result.
What we need from you
Room around the car — about one extra car length — and dry working conditions. Polishing does not tolerate rain on the paint, so we need either dry weather or a carport, garage or roof over the car. If the forecast turns, we move the slot free of charge. Water and power we bring ourselves, so all you do is leave the car standing.

The first five kilometres from the base are included in the price. Outside that zone the rate is NOK 20 per kilometre, calculated from the address you enter, and the amount is in the booking before you pay. All of Tønsberg is inside the free zone.
The season has a clear pattern here. March to May are the polishing months, once winter road salt and grit have left their marks and people want the car back. In autumn it shifts towards sale preparation and headlight restoration, ahead of the dark months and the change of owners.

What is the difference between a 1, 2 and 3-step polish?

Three steps adds a dedicated finishing pass and removes most scratches and wash marks. More steps means more hours and a finer result.
Is washing included in the polish?
Yes. Pre-wash, hand wash, degreasing and decontamination are in the price of all three steps. It is not a courtesy but a condition: a polishing machine on unwashed paint drags grit around in the clear coat instead of removing it.
How long does car polishing take?
Allow around five hours for a 1-step, eight for a 2-step and twelve for a 3-step. A large part of that goes on washing, degreasing and decontamination before the machine starts. We work where the car stands, so the hours pass at your address rather than at a workshop.
How often should a car be polished?
By the condition of the paint, not by the calendar. Every polish removes a little clear coat, so it is not something to do routinely every year. Add protection afterwards — wax or ceramic coating at NOK 8,999 — and you push the next round further out.
What does polishing cost for an SUV or a van?
An SUV adds 30 per cent and a van 40 per cent to the base price. The supplement is calculated in the booking before you pay, so you see the whole total. We state it as a percentage precisely because "large car" without a number is the most common price surprise in this trade.
