The price
What does ceramic coating cost in Vestfold?
NOK 8,999 is the base price for a small car. An SUV adds 30 per cent and a van 40 per cent, calculated before you pay, so you see the whole total rather than a size category. The figures are the same in every town we drive to.
Search for the price of ceramic coating and you get two answers: a national range from around 7,500 to 20,000 kroner, and a handful of Danish web shops selling bottles. A twelve-thousand-krone spread is not a price answer — it is a question about what is included.
With us the answer is three machine polishing passes, which cost NOK 6,499 on their own. So around NOK 2,500 is the seal, and the rest is the correction that makes the paint worth sealing. Travel beyond the five free kilometres is NOK 20 per kilometre.

Three levels
Which level of protection does your car need?
Ceramic coating is the top level, not the only one. Three cars in the same driveway can have three right answers.
Wax protection
the thin layer
Applied quickly during the same visit as a wash or polish, giving water repellency and a warmer gloss for a while.
- Right when the car is being sold soon
- Easy to reapply
- The shortest life of the three
Spray ceramic
NOK 1,999 as an add-on
A spray with ceramic chemistry. The middle ground: faster to apply than a full coating, harder than wax, shorter-lived.
- Right when you want to try the feel first
- Does not require three polishing steps underneath
- Applied during the same visit as a wash
Ceramic coating
NOK 8,999 with preparation
The hard layer, chemically bonded to the clear coat and laid over paint corrected in three steps. Around sixteen hours, normally over two visits.
- Right when the car is a keeper
- Locks in corrected paint rather than tired paint
- Needs cover or dry weather to cure
Honest about the climate
What a coated layer withstands in a Norwegian winter
Vestfold attacks paint twice a year. From November to March it is road salt, grit from the roadside bins and a car that has to be washed often. The rest of the year it is salt air from the coast, insects and UV. A ceramic coating is chemical resistance to exactly that list, and makes the winter washes gentler because the dirt releases more easily.
What it does nothing about is mechanical damage. Grit makes scratches, and stones off the E18 make chips. A layer measured in micrometres stops neither, whatever it costs.
What the coating helps against
- Road salt and sea spray that would otherwise sit on the paint
- Bird droppings and insect residue, which damage faster than people expect
- UV and the gradual dulling of the colour
- Dirt releases more easily, so each wash wears less
What it does not help against
- Stone chips off the E18 — that takes a paint protection film
- Scratches from grit in a brush wash or the wrong wash method
- Paint defects already there — which is why the polish is in the price
- A number of years from us: we give none, we explain what governs durability
How we work
How does a coating work when we come to you?
We are mobile across the whole county. Our van carries its own water and power, so you provide neither a socket nor a hose — only room around the car and somewhere it can stand dry.
Because the job is long and the weather governs it, we agree the conditions before setting a date.
We look at the paint before promising anything
Photos or a quick walk-around tell us whether three steps are right, or whether a lighter level gives the same experience for less.
We agree cover and weather
A carport, garage, parking structure or a settled dry spell. If you have none of those we say so.
Preparation and application, normally over two visits
Wash, degrease, decontamination and three machine polishing passes, then a wipe-down and application panel by panel. Around sixteen hours.
Curing and hand-over
The layer is left undisturbed while it sets, and the car should stand dry for the first hours. We go through the wash routine before we drive on.
What we need from you
Room around the car, and somewhere it can stand dry: a carport, garage, parking structure or settled dry weather. Coating is the one treatment where the weather sets the date, and if the forecast turns we move the slot free of charge. Water and power are on our van.
Coverage
Where in Vestfold do we drive?
The base is Skiringsalgaten 6 B in 3116 Tønsberg, in the middle of the county, with the E18 north and south. From there we cover Tønsberg and Nøtterøy, Tjøme, Sandefjord with Stokke and Vear, Horten with Åsgårdstrand, Holmestrand, Larvik to the south and Drammen to the north.
The travel rule is the same in every municipality, and it is written down rather than appearing on the invoice: five free kilometres, then NOK 20 per kilometre from the address you enter. Tønsberg and Teie are inside the zone. Vear is around eight kilometres out, Stokke around fifteen, Åsgårdstrand around twenty, Sandefjord around twenty-five and Horten around thirty. Larvik is southernmost, Drammen northernmost.
This page is a way in, not a replacement for the town pages. If you live in Tønsberg or Sandefjord you will find local distances and the questions people there actually ask, on the town page further down.

Questions and answers
Common questions about ceramic coating and price
What does ceramic coating cost?
NOK 8,999 for a small car, with a three-step polish included as preparation. An SUV adds 30 per cent and a van 40 per cent, calculated before you pay. The price is the same across Vestfold, and the only thing that varies is travel outside the free five-kilometre zone.
Is ceramic coating worth it in the Norwegian climate?
Against the chemistry of a Norwegian winter, yes: road salt, sea spray, bird droppings and UV are exactly what a ceramic layer resists, and the car is easier to clean through the salt season. Against mechanical wear, no — grit in a brush wash still scratches, and stones off the E18 still chip.
Why do ceramic coating prices vary so much?
Because the word covers two entirely different jobs. Nationally it runs from around 7,500 to 20,000 kroner, and the difference is almost always the preparation. Three polishing steps first cost NOK 6,499 alone, and with us they are in the price.
How long does a ceramic coating last?
We do not give a number of years, and you should be sceptical of anyone who does without qualification. Durability is governed by how the car is washed and where it stands: hand washing without brushes extends the layer, automatic brush washes wear it down quickly.
Do you cover the whole county, and what does travel cost?
We drive to Tønsberg, Nøtterøy, Tjøme, Sandefjord with Stokke and Vear, Horten with Åsgårdstrand, Holmestrand, Larvik and Drammen. Five kilometres from Skiringsalgaten 6 B are free, then NOK 20 per kilometre, stated before you confirm.
Does the paint have to be polished first?
Yes, and with us it is not optional. The coating seals the paint as it is, so everything in it when the layer cures stays underneath. That is why a three-step polish is included in the NOK 8,999.
